About us

“SG Stud is a place where horses have a name, not a number”

– Colette Hosking, owner/manager

SG Stud is committed to offering quality, holistic care of your horse. We believe that a happy, healthy horse both mentally and physically is key to producing top quality foals and youngstock.

We are a family owned and run business who take pride in what we produce and all the horses that agist here are treated like our very own.

At SG Stud we believe communication between us and the client is of the utmost importance to keep you informed of your horse's progress at every step of the way.

Our high first cycle conception rate for chilled and frozen insemination comes from our attention to detail and unique environment. We are able to provide each horse an individual handling and management plan to keep stress levels to a minimum to maximise fertility levels.

Our foal handling program has become increasingly popular and highly recommended by owners as well as breaking in and training establishments. Spending money early on in a young horse's education really pays off in the long run with the young horses developing into happy and confident individuals who are easy to handle and eventually break in.

We welcome inspections via appointment and would love you to meet us and see our passion first hand.
